Season Planning Course with World Cup Winning Coach Sir Graham Henry
New online video resource on The Rugby Site for coaches to develop knowledge on off-field season planning. Part 1 is available to watch here.
In this unique course Sir Graham Henry, Rugby World Cup winning coach, shares his vast experience on planning for the rugby season. A comprehensive 8 part video providing advice to coaches on vital aspects of managing a team over the season to maximise player's potential on the pitch.
Topics covered are:
• Overall management planning: appointing the best coaching set up and splitting the season into chunks
• Planning in detail: pre-season games, weekly training plans and individual training sessions
• Ongoing area's to consider over the season: dual-managed teams, motivation levels and video analysis
Sir Graham Henry highlights the importance to coaches to consider off-field planning and management:
I've put together this course for The Rugby Site in planning for the season because I believe it's an area of coaching that is just as important, if not more so, than what you do on the training field. In every successful team I've worked in around the world, I surrounded myself with people whose knowledge of the game and attention to detail were second to none. Those people and the work that we did off the field is ultimately what allowed the playing group to win on the field.
"I hope that this course helps coaches around the world to get the full potential out of the players that they coach."
This course is the first in a series delivered by Sir Graham Henry, further video courses will cover team motivation and how to formulate a game plan, these videos will be released during February and March.
