Congrats to the winners of the 2013 Stitcher Awards!
Over 500 content producers, podcasters, and listeners came out to celebrate the 2nd Annual Stitcher Awards last week.
This was the culmination of over 230,000 votes that were cast for over 3700 different shows across 19 categories. We
couldn't be more excited to recognize the best in audio and podcasting and celebrate the revolution that is happening in
the world of spoken word content. As Mr. Glynn Washington said, "this is blowing up!"
The sentiment and excitement of a growing industry resonated in every presenter and winner's speech. Stitcher was
thrilled and honored that so many content providers could join us for the event. Andrew Whitehead, the head of news at
BBC World Service, along with Dan Damon, anchor of the BBC's World Updatesand the Daily Commute flew out from London. Tales from The South, nominated for Best Storytelling, sent in their whole team from Arkansas. The guys from A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan, Best Comedy nominee, traveled from Florida and enjoyed the party. It was wonderful to have a chance to meet so many of
you and share the excitement!
The Stitcher team wants to thank all of the content providers we have worked with this year. Special thanks to our hosts
and presenters; Good Job, Brain!, Glynn Washington of Snap Judgment, Mignon Fogarty of Grammar Girl, Ming Chen of I Sell Comics from SModcast, Andrew Whitehead and Dan Damon of the BBC World Service, and Rico Gagliano and Brendan Francis Newnam of The Dinner Party Download. Noise Pop provided an awesome music soundtrack to open the show.
