Third time’s a charm in 2014
New Zealand’s favourite vintage festival, The Very Vintage Day Out (VVDO), is back for its third outing in 2014. Returning with a fabulous day of vintage celebrations with lots of entertainment, shopping and interactive activities, there is plenty to offer young and old all day.
Transforming Alexandra Park into a mecca of all things vintage, the event brings together the best vintage wares from around the country, with all kinds of treasures, knick-knacks and fashionable goods on display. With a delicious high tea to delight the crowds and fabulous entertainment to keep everyone amused and enthralled, this year’s event promises to be the best one yet.
“We couldn’t be more excited by the wonderful support we’ve have for the previous The Very Vintage Day Outs,” says Talia Stephens, Organiser and Founder of The Very Vintage Day Out. “It’s because of everyone’s amazing support that we absolutely had to put the event on again and are grateful for the opportunity to again build on the brand’s success. It’s a pleasure to bring together NZ’s vintage community and enthusiasts under one roof for one big celebration and we continue to be impressed by the brilliant turnout each year.”
Stellar entertainment provided by some of the best Rockabilly, Charleston, Rock’n’Roll, Swing and Burlesque performers will be sure to keep everyone entertained, with interactive dance classes and audience participation encouraged in events during the day. Attendees are also encouraged to get into the spirit of the day with great spot prizes for the best dressed ticket holders.
In exciting news, supremely talented Canadian songstress, Tami Neilson, will be presenting a brilliant showcase from her new album at The Vintage Day Out too. The launch party for the new album will also be held after the event finishes, with ticket deals available for patrons who want to attend both events. Tami’s award winning music swings from toe-tapping rockabilly to soulful country and the VVDO is thrilled to be working with Tami this year.
The jewel in The Very Vintage Day Out crown is of course the Miss Pinup New Zealand 2014 pageant, which brings together the best vintage-inspired beauties from around the country who will compete on stage for the coveted title. Entries are currently being accepted on The Very Vintage Day Out’s website and close on January 25th 2014. This year’s judges include gorgeous international pinup Ruby Rabbit, esteemed vintage expert and Glory Days magazine editor Clare Gormley and the supremely talented performer and producer Nat Hugill.
Prepared to charm and delight, the Very Vintage Day Out is ecstatic to be returning for 2014 and will be releasing more information on further developments over the next couple of months.
