New Registration Location for REV in 2014
The Avantidrome REV Cycle Festival is holding its Registration at the new Avantidrome in Cambridge before it officially opens to the public, providing a sneak peek into what this new facility looks like.
World Champion Alison Shanks will also make an appearance at the REV Registration. She will be available for autographs and registered riders will also have the opportunity to check out her high-performance Avanti bike, worth tens of thousands of dollars!
To make the occasion even more special, members of the BikeNZ Development Track Cycling team will be training on the track while the Registration takes place – giving a real insight into the speed that can be achieved on the track.
Event Manager Faye Christensen says that the Registration will give REV participants the unique opportunity to check out the new Avantidrome before it officially opens to the public in April.
“We are excited about holding our Registration there as we know cyclists competing at the REV would love to check out this World Class facility.
“It’s a rare opportunity to enter the Avantidrome via the Entrance Ramp. Registered riders will walk straight into the in-field, which is where elite athletes hang out as they prepare to compete on the track.
“It offers keen cyclists riding the REV a view of the track from an athlete’s point of view, rather than a spectator’s which we think they will love.”
The REV Cycle Festival Registrations evening on Friday 21st February will be held at the Avantidrome, SH1 Cambridge Rd, by St Peters School between 6.00 -7.30pm.

Experience New Zealand’s greatest cycling terrain in Cambridge, the Home of Cycling.
The Avantidrome REV Cycle Festival is an event held in the true spirit of cycling in Cambridge’s Home of Cycling. Taking place in the Waikato’s most scenic rolling countryside and upon the Waikato’s Roads of Champions, the REV has riders out amongst the action on some of the best terrain on offer in the country.
For keen experienced cyclists the RadioSport REV CLASSIC and REV 100 rides, 135km and 100km rides respectively, take you over the challenging French Pass, through the famous Hobbiton and thoroughbred district of Matamata and home via the legendary Scotsman Valley. The RadioSport REV Classic is recognised as one of New Zealand’s Premier One Day races.
For those looking for something slightly less challenging, the REV Midi (55km) and REV Intro (18km) rides offer a fantastic cycling experience. And for the kids is the free REV Mini – a 2km, 4km or 6km ride and cycling workshop which teaches children all they need to know about cycling.
