TEDxQueenstown: Tickets on sale and final speakers announced
Queenstown songstress Holly Arrowsmith and social theorist Frederique Gulcher will be joining the programme for
TEDxQueenstown: Sense of Place. Arrowsmith and Gultcher complete the line-up of speakers and performers for the February
22 event, with tickets going on sale from 10am tomorrow.
On the cusp of achieving major milestones as an emerging artist, Holly Arrowsmith is currently recording her first
album, and will be the opening act at the 2014 NZ Open’s Open Sounds concert. Arrowsmith attributes her progress to
finding her purpose and ‘Sense of Place’ in music and challenges others to discover and pursue their unique purpose.
Having resided in Africa, Europe and the South Pacific, the fabric of Frederique Gulcher’s personal culture is eclectic
and diverse. Now a passionate Queenstown local, Gulcher will make observations on Queenstown’s eclectic and diverse
community and explore what it takes for people to feel connected to a place and feel they fit in.
Arrowsmith and Gulcher will be joining a programme of esteemed speakers and performers including internationally
renowned nutritional biochemist Dr. Libby Weaver, former MEGA CEO Vikram Kumar, RadioLIVE correspondent Andrew
Patterson, musician ‘Mathias Piano Man’ Lefebvre, and University of Canterbury Senior Research Fellow John Reid.
Co-curator Cesar Piotto is excited about the diverse range of speakers TEDxQueenstown: Sense of place has brought
together this year.
“We have a great mix of local, national and international speakers with backgrounds ranging from science to business to
music. This will create a fantastic open environment where we can explore, from many different angles, how we define our
sense of place.”
TEDxQueenstown: Sense of Place will be held at Queenstown Memorial Centre. Tickets are limited to 100 and will go on
