TAB tips for $1M Wellington Cup Triple Trio
The TAB is running a $1M Triple Trio for the Wellington Cup this Saturday at Trentham, and after five people won on Triple Trio’s debut last week, the TAB has some tips.
The biggest winner of the TAB Triple Trio last week was a gentleman from the small southern town of Milton, who won over $300,000 on a $10 Easybet generated by the TAB computer. Two more winners had Easybets while the other two winners picked their own horses.
First division winners need to have the first three horses in the nominated three consecutive races –usually the last three of the day.
For people interested in having a crack at picking their own horses for this Saturday, the early favourites in order are:
· First leg (Race 8) – #8 Neena Rock, #13 Tiger Moss and #2 Ruready / #6 Manu (joint third favourites)
· Second leg (Race 9) – #8 More Than Sacred, #4 Guns At Five and #6 Annie Higgins
· Third leg (Race 10) – #11 Locket, #3 Dillinger and #13 Gwynethanne
TAB Executive General Manager Glenn Patrick said last week showed anyone can win big on TAB Triple Trio.
“After last week’s bonanza, I’ll actually be backing the TAB computer and taking an Easybet.”
Long-time TAB Bookie Michael Dore’s top tip is a $30 Easybet.
“I like the $30 Easybet because it gives you five horses in two races and four horses in the other. And instead of giving you a 10% bet like most of the Triple Trio Easybets, the $30 Easybet gives you 12% – when there’s a million dollars up for grabs that can mean an extra $20,000.”
Wellington Cup Day is the region’s biggest racing event, which attracts thousands of people out to a fabulous day at the races at Trentham. Many more thousands around the country also take the opportunity to have a bit a flutter. The difference this year, says Mr Patrick, is that there’s a $1M TAB Triple Trio up for grabs.
