Ride the Roads of Champions at the Avantidrome REV Cycle Festival
Experience New Zealand’s greatest cycling terrain in Cambridge, the Home of Cycling, at this year’s Avantidrome REV
Cycle Festival to be held on 22 February 2014.
Undulating hills, tight corners and beautiful scenery all contribute to this unique course which starts in Cambridge and
takes cyclists over the French Pass, through Matamata, the home of Hobbiton and back again via the legendary Scotsman
Valley.
The REV 100 is the most popular category at the Avantidrome REV Cycle Festival with hundreds of recreational riders
taking part.
Known for being hard and fast from the get go, the 100km road race is a fantastic opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to
test themselves on the Roads of Champions, both as individuals and in teams.
Kevin Endres, General Manager of U Leisure says the REV, now in its ninth year, has gained momentum with keen cyclists
from across the North Island who compete and experience the Home of Cycling terrain.
“With the addition of the new Avantidrome we are certainly luring many cyclists from outside the region who want to test
out what one of New Zealand’s premiere road races has to offer. They never leave disappointed and many come back year
after year to enjoy the course and festival-like atmosphere. This year is no different and we’re expecting places to
fill quickly.”
The REV Cycle Festival offers something for everyone, with categories ranging from elite riders through to kids.
Whatever cyclists’ age or ability, the REV ensures everyone can ride the Roads of Champions.
This year’s event takes place on Saturday 22 February 2014.
