Will Banquo’s Son Achieve His Birthright?
Will Banquo’s Son Achieve His Birthright?
Last in Trilogy to be Launched at City Library
Dunedin (Monday, 11 November 2013) – The long-awaited third instalment of the Banquo trilogy will be launched next week.
Birthright
will be launched at the Dunedin City Library at 6pm on
Tuesday, 19 November. The release of TK (Tania)
Roxborogh’s sequel to Banquo’s Son and
Bloodlines will be a joy to young adult readers who have
been eagerly awaiting news of the fate of Fleance, a young
man caught up in the terrible aftermath of the tragic reign
of Macbeth.
Tania Roxborogh lives in Dunedin and
teaches at Columba College, when not writing fiction, so
understands her readers well. Indeed, her students are among
her most ardent fans.
After a remarkable debut at
number three on the bestsellers list, the first in the
series, Banquo’s Son, was shortlisted for the Young
Adult section of the New Zealand Post Children's Book
Awards. The book was also awarded a Notable Book Award by
the Storylines Children's Literature Foundation and won the
inaugural Young Adult section of the 2010 LIANZA awards. The
second in the trilogy, Bloodlines, was published in
2010, so it has been “a long time between drinks” as
Tania puts it. Readers who have been on tenterhooks for
three years don’t have long to wait now.
Copies of
Birthright will be available to purchase during the
evening, courtesy of PaperPlus (EFTPOS
available).
