Taye Williams Eliminated from ‘the X Factor Nz’
Taye Williams became the second act eliminated from The X Factor NZ tonight after the judges failed to secure a majority decision, pushing the competition to deadlock and leaving the final decision to the public vote.
Tonight’s result leaves Tom Batchelor, Benny Tipene, Fletcher Mills, Whenua Patuwai, Cassie Henderson, Jackie Thomas, Anna Wilson, Maaka Fiso, Gap 5, L.O.V.E. and Moorhouse to compete for The X Factor NZ crown.
Taye said:  “I’m gutted.  This journey is just beginning for me, but New Zealand needs to remember not to let the talent in this competition go to waste.  Vote with your ears, not with your eyes.”
On Sunday night, Taye performed Kimbra’s ‘Settle Down’ in the second LIVE Performance Show.  After a public vote, Taye and L.O.V.E. were the bottom two acts.  Tonight, they each sang again, in a final attempt to stay in the competition. Taye performed ‘Forget You’ by Cee Lo Green, and was eliminated.
Tonight, Stan said: “People need to vote!  Taye is the man and this isn’t right.  I’m inspired by him, I’m gutted he’s gone.”
The remaining 11 acts will take the stage at 7pm, Sunday 2 June, and sing to stay in the competition in the next LIVE Performance Show.
