Early bird discount finishes this Friday 15 March
Uni Shorts 2013 is only one month away so this is a reminder to get your early bird tickets this week. The early bird
special of NZ$50 general admission and NZ$30 for students/guild members finishes this Friday, 15 March so get in quick
to take advantage of the discount. After 15 March, standard ticket prices will apply. All tickets include both morning
tea and lunch for both days - great value!
* PLEASE NOTE: Tickets do not include entry to the Awards Night on Sunday, 14 April. Awards Night tickets are selling
separately for NZ$30 per person. All finalists receive one FREE ticket to both the festival and awards. All film entrants receive one FREE ticket for the
festival only.

What's happening?
Uni Shorts International Student Film Festival 2013 is being held at the Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New
Zealand, 13-14 April. The two-day festival will see 30 student-made short films from around the world (selected from
nearly 200 entries) screen in competition. You can see the list of 30 film finalists below.
There's also engaging panel sessions and Q with guest industry speakers on topics relating to the changing filmmaking landscape and the impact of new media
platforms and technology on how films are now being exhibited and distributed. These discussions will be of great value
to emerging and student film makers, students and media studies/film teachers. "Student filmmakers and those starting
out in the industry will find value in attending next month's festival. Our lineup of seminars will address issues
important to them as they staircase into an industry that is evolving all the time and they need to adapt to these
changes," says festival chairperson, Athina Tsoulis.
We're also excited to welcome the Hollywood producer of 2004 cult hit Napoleon Dynamite, Chris 'Doc' Wyatt to New
Zealand as our keynote speaker. "I'm looking forward to coming to New Zealand and sharing my experiences with New
Zealand filmmakers, and have them share theirs with me, so that we can grow together as a global indie film community,"
he says.
