•Tiritiri Matangi Saddleback Celebration March 1st – 10th 2013. For ten magical days on the Island we will be celebrating everything saddleback, with an art
exhibition for the duration, a ‘Paint the birds of Tiritiri Matangi’ two day workshop on the 2nd and 3rd, and a
‘Sounding Tiritiri Matangi’ musical experience curated by Phil Dadson on the 9th March. Internationally acclaimed artist
Adele Earnshaw is taking the painting workshop. Saturday March 2nd will be 'in the field' on Tiri, observing and
photographing birds in their natural habitat. Sunday March 3rd will be spent in the studio off the Island (at Birkenhead
Primary School on the North Shore, Auckland), giving the students a full day to paint while Adele gives individual
attention to each artist. She will cover the basics of composition, value and colour, showing how she works in
watercolour, ‘loose to tight - light to dark’, in a step-by-step process that takes the fear out of painting. This
workshop is for those who have worked in watercolour before and all levels are welcome. Students will be provided with a
supply list when registering for the class and will be welcome to contact Adele by email with questions. Cost for the
two days is $100 (all proceeds to Tiritiri Matangi Island) – there are only 16 spaces so bookings are essential. Please
note: you will need to book and pay for your own ferry transport with 360 Discovery for the first day – 2nd March.

approx two carparks in size (4.5x5mtrs) and are outdoors so a ezy-up is recommended. EcoDay will be held on the grounds
