The Aces will welcome back fast bowler Matt Quinn for their Plunket Shield game with the Otago Volts starting on Thursday.
Quinn was named in the 13 for the last game against Wellington but released to play club cricket, however with Kyle Mills disappearing on Blackcaps duty he comes back into the 12 for this week's game.
The Aces missed out by just a couple of wickets in that game against Wellington and coach Paul Strang was happy with the way his charges battled for the result.
"It was a tough game and we had a couple of bad sessions but we fought really hard and in the end came very close to getting the result we were after. We'll definitely have to build on that against Otago as they're travelling well at the moment and they're on their home deck, but the guys are up for that challenge."
The 12 from which a team will be named for Thursday's game is as follows:
Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Michael Barry (Suburbs New Lynn)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Lockie Ferguson (Parnell)
Michael Guptill-Bunce (Cornwall)
Dusan Hakaraia (Grafton United)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Chris Martin (Parnell)
Matt Quinn (Cornwall)
