Press Release Begins
Auckland, New Zealand. February 7th, 2013
Codemania is returning to Auckland!
Auckland's premier technology-agnostic developer conference, Codemania (http://codemania.co.nz) is returning, this time at The Langham Hotel, on Friday April 12th. Featuring world-class technology speakers, such as
Glenn Block (Microsoft) and Paul Betts (GitHub), as well as an array of Australian and New Zealand developers like Ivan
Towlson (GreenButton) and Philip Laureano (Readify, author of LinFu), you will definitely want to book Codemania into
your conference calendar.
Codemania is a celebration of software development. The industry has been under the spotlight over the last 6 months
with Wheedle, MSD kiosk security and more recently Novopay under the spotlight. But the reality is New Zealand's
software industry is thriving with international success stories like Xero and Vend leading the way.
Codemania co-creator, Ben Gracewood said he was excited to be running another conference in 2013, following the success
of last year's inaugural event. "Last year was such a blast. Ian (Randall) and I wanted to make a conference that we
would want to attend - filled with very technical talks from a variety of world-class speakers. It needed to be right
here in Auckland and to be affordable to fit easily into your IT training budget." said Gracewood. "We loved every
minute of last year's event, and we can't wait for April to come around".
What makes Codemania unique is that the speaking roster is made up of technologists from all different areas of software
development. There is a much larger focus on creating great solutions than around which language, which platform or
which frameworks are used to create those solutions. Codemania is about deep technical explorations into idioms that the
audience may or may not use every day, but will absolutely help them write better code.
"In addition to the main conference this year, we are also running two technical workshops on the Thursday before the
conference (Thursday 11th April)" said Randall. "Glenn Block is doing a session on node.js and WindowsAzure; and Paul
and Brandon from GitHub will be running Git training in the afternoon. Places are strictly limited to 40 seats per
workshop, so booking early to avoid disappointment is a good idea".
Codemania attendees left the 2012 event educated, entertained and inspired. 2013 attendees can expect nothing less!
Codemania is being held at the Langham Hotel on Friday, 12th April.
