Rose James - Step Space Step Space Step at The Performance Arcade.
Step Space Step Space Step, acts as a satellite to the Enjoy Gallery exhibition, Resonant Beings. The two spaces, Enjoy Gallery and the Performance Arcade, are connected by an exploration of resonance and sonicity to
understand how the body traverses space.
Resonant Beings at Enjoy Gallery will run from February 13 - March 9, 2013, and will use the phenomena of resonance to explore the
sympathetic entwinement of the body and the built environment. Concurrently, James will produce a satellite exhibition
for this work to be held at the Performance Arcade during February 13-18, 2013 as part of the Fringe Festival. This work
will be presented by Enjoy Gallery and the Performance Arcade, and is entitled Step Space Step Space Step. Both pieces are connected by an exploration of resonance and sonicity to understand how the body traverses space.
Established in 2000, Enjoy Public Art Gallery is a non-commercial, artist-run project space, and is the hub of
contemporary culture in Wellington, New Zealand. Enjoy works to provide the necessary critical support, resources, and
audience development to realise quality projects in dialogue with contemporary practice both nationally and
internationally. Enjoy creates a dynamic space for the visual arts in Wellington by means of an experimental programme
that pushes the boundaries of contemporary art practice.
