URZILA CARLSON (MC)
After her huge debut at the festival in 2012 the hilarious Urzila Carlson returns to host Hirepool NOTHING BUT STAND UP
(R18). The South African-born New Zealand comic is a relative newcomer to the comedy scene. She took to the stage for
the first time in 2008 and has since racked up an impressive array of awards for her stand up including ‘Best Female
Comedian’ at the 2010 and 2011 NZ Comedy Guild Awards.
She has made numerous TV appearances on shows such as A Night at the Classic, The Comedy Christmas Cracker with Rhys
Darby, AotearoHA!, The Jono Project and of course she tames the boys as a regular panellist on TV3’s hit show 7 Days.
Urzila was also invited to be part of the hugely successful 7 Days Live NZ Tour.
Urzila Carlson is one of New Zealand’s funniest comedians, male or female, and a true star on the rise.
GUY WILLIAMS
Comedian, Corporate Entertainer, Writer, Sickness Beneficiary, TV Personality, DJ and Chef.
2012 Billy T Award winner Guy Williams has been stalking the Boards of the New Zealand Comedy scene for over four years.
Guy first gained media attention after appearing on Paul Henry’s Breakfast program as a pro-whaling activist in 2010.
Since then he has worked on The Jono Project (TV3), 7 Days (TV3) and other things as well. He is currently appearing on
the TV3 comedy show Jono and Ben at 10.
LINDSEY WEBB
Lindsay is no slouch. In 2011 he performed an amazing 270 gigs in one year making him one of the hardest working and
most consistent acts in Australia. As well as many club gigs Lindsay is in high demand on the Corporate Comedy Circuit.
He is one of the most prolific acts on the Brisbane Corporate Comedy Scene.
He once did a gig at the Melbourne Festival where he made a lady laugh so hard she popped an eye out! True story – check
Google! In 2009 he broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Ever Stand Up show by an Individual - 38hrs & 6min raising money for the charity ACT for Kids.
FELICITY WARD
Comedian. Actor. Writer. Knucklehead.
Felicity Ward is a multi-award winning 31-year-old Melbourne-based stand-up comedian, comic performer, writer and actor.
She is most well-known in Australia for her work on Network Ten’s The Ronnie Johns Half Hour, her regular guest
appearances on ABC’s Spicks and Specks and 7’s Thank God You’re Here.
PENNY ASHTON
After abandoning a career in ballet due to a pesky need to eat, Penny Ashton has been trotting the globe making a name
for herself as an international comedienne.
She has two Billy T nominations, four Best Female Comedienne nominations, three Adelaide Fringe People's Choice
nominations and one Honourable Mention in the Best Comedy Category at the Wellington Fringe Festival. One day she hopes
to win something.
She is a regular on National Radio and her solo show Hot Pink Bits has been selling out all over New Zealand since 2007.
