New Zealand’s Got Talent number one TV show of the last ten years.

New Zealand’s Got Talent has been crowned the country’s number one television show after completing its record- breaking
run on TV ONE.
Sunday’s Decider episode saw over 930,000 people tuning in to watch Marlborough teenager Clara Van Wel named winner of
New Zealand’s Got Talent 2012
.
With 51 per cent of the available audience watching, NZGT achieved a massive 22.9 per cent rating amongst all New
Zealanders aged 5 +.
Since New Zealand’s Got Talent debuted in September, an average of 1.4 million Kiwis have tuned in to watch each
episode.
Before Sunday night there had been over 854,000 streams on TVNZ Ondemand for the series.
Head of TV ONE and TV2, Jeff Latch says Television New Zealand never doubted the show would be a major success.
“From the outset the goal was for New Zealand’s Got Talent to be the biggest entertainment event of 2012,” says Mr
Latch.
“For it to become the biggest show of the past ten years* shows that viewers have embraced the format which gives
talented Kiwis the country over a platform from which to shine.
“We couldn’t have done it without our partners New Zealand On Air and Toyota New Zealand,” he says.
Toyota New Zealand General Manager of Marketing, Neeraj Lala, says Toyota New Zealand is proud to have been involved in
the partnership.
“New Zealand’s Got Talent not only celebrated the arrival of our most talented 11th generation Corolla, but also
supported the dreams of our superstars of the future in a successful campaign which generated a huge following,” says Mr
Lala.
