PRESS RELEASE:
XPOSURE: THE COUNTRY’S BEST HIP HOP LAID BARE
November 29, 2012
Capital’s premier hip hop dance studio to showcase talent in one-off street carnival dance event.
The street comes to the stage at The Company NZ’s third annual hip hop dance talent showcase, XPosure, held on December 15 at the Opera House in Wellington.
Over 100 dancers, crews and special guests will drop their finest hip hop and moves in a 90 minute, two-part performance. For the first part, division winners of the 2012 of the Hip Hop National Dance Championship CKC and Emerge will break out their considerable skills.
That will be followed up by a street carnival-themed choreographed show, with dancers aged from three upwards and top Company crews De La Funk and Interns, plus a Pacific Island senior citizens group from Newtown.
Also on stage are the Associates, including XPosure Artistic Director Ben Uili.
“This is going to be the biggest hip hop show Wellington has ever seen,” said Uili, The Company NZ’s Choreographer. “The guys have been practising for months and can’t wait to show the country their style.”
“We’re all about community,” said The Company NZ Director Liston Peilua. “We’ve had some amazingly diverse perform at XPosure in the past and this year is no different. Right from the different backgrounds of our dancers to the senior citizens group - I can’t wait to see them on stage.”
Venue: Opera House
When: December 15 2012
Start: 7pm
