Entertainment galore at Christmas in Cornwall Park
There will be fun for all the family at ‘Christmas in the Park’ in Hastings Cornwall Park.
The annual event to be held on Sunday 16th December is a celebration of the festive season with a Family Fun Day from 3pm till 7pm followed by Community Christmas Carols from 7pm till 8.30pm.
Creative Hastings Event Manager Richard Nicholson says “Christmas in the Park has become an important event for all the community. It will be the 127th time that carols have been held in the park and we are working on streamlining and building on last year’s programme. It will be a fun afternoon and evening of entertainment with a focus on creating a great Christmas atmosphere.”
The Family Fun Day includes loads of entertainment for the kids, with an appearance by Squirt from Splash Planet, children’s stories from Hastings Library storytellers and food and drink vendors will make sure everyone is well fed and watered.
Main stage entertainment will include the ever popular Naked Gun and the Rag Tag Scoobie Doobie Good Time Band with their brand of rag time music. The MC for the event will be well known Hawke’s Bay opera singer William Winitana.
The kids will be able to have their faces painted or play in the Splash Pad until Santa arrives in his sleigh at around 5pm.
Community Carols in the Park will begin at 7pm with the Hastings Citizens’ Band. The programme will include all your favourite Christmas Carols and everyone will be encouraged to sing along.
