The first ever NZ International Air Show over Auckland Anniversary Weekend in January 2013 will redefine the way aviation is presented to the public. Taking place at the North Shore Airfield, the inaugural NZ International Air Show will be much more than an exhibition of aviation - air races and cutting-edge technology will put spectators into the cockpit and engage them in the pilot’s adrenaline rush.
The headline act Yves Rossy, better known as the world’s top aviation stuntman Jetman, will bring a team of engineers to help him launch 5000 feet above the airfield from a helicopter, before landing by parachute at North Shore Airfield. A team of camera technicians will help spectators share the on board experience every step of the way, the ultimate thrill for anyone who has ever dreamt about flying!
Another recent announcement is the exciting addition of aerobatic superstars Rex and Melissa Pemberton to the NZ International Air Show. Renowned across the globe for their thrilling gyroscopic manoeuvres and complex aerobatic stunts, the Pembertons are sure to put on an unforgettable display in their first-ever New Zealand appearance.
And last but not least is the welcome return of a classic Kiwi favorite – the Red Checkers! The aerobatic and flying precision team of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) will dazzle audiences with their beloved air display.
The NZ International Air Show will be held over January 26, 27 and 28 (Auckland Anniversary Weekend) at North Shore Airfield.
