Giltrap Audi Ladies Golf Classic raises $29,100 for Shine
A group of 100 women golfers are celebrating a job well done, after they raised more than $29,000 last Friday at the
Grange Golf club in Otahuhu, which will support Shine to make New Zealand homes violence free.
The Giltrap Audi Annual Ladies Golf Classic attracted over thirty-six women's teams who played 18 holes in support of
Shine.
Giltrap Audi General Manager, Gary Perriam, said the charity event was a huge success, and he was proud to support a
charity making homes violence free in New Zealand.
"Giltrap Audi are proud to be involved with Shine and recognise the need to assist women and children who suffer from
domestic abuse. We believe it is every person’s right to live in a violence free home and are proud to support the
wonderful work of Shine towards this end.”
Money raised from this year’s Ladies Golf Classic will fund home security upgrades for eight families through the Shine
safe@home service, which has recently been expanded from Central Auckland to include Tauranga, Manukau and Christchurch.
Jane Drumm, Shine’s Executive Director says:
“It costs $3.9 million for each homicide inquiry, yet only $3,700 to make a home safe through Shine safe@home helping to
prevent a homicide. Safe homes save lives and save taxpayers’ money.”
