Zon of the Lines Skateboard Invitational Hits the Capital!
Wellington’s Waterfront is gearing up to host the second stop in the Zon of the Lines Skateboard Invitational series
this weekend.
Hot off the heels of the first Zon of the Lines in Christchurch on 3 Nov, the finest skateboarders from around the lower
North Island will congregate in the heart of the Capital’s bustling waterfront to battle it out for their slice of a
massive $10,000 prize pool.
On Saturday, 17 November, Oldins Plaza–one of the cities most iconic skate spots, aptly nicknamed 'Brewery'–will be
transformed by a custom made course of street-inspired obstacles such as a manual pad, picnic table, flat bar and a
wheel chair ramp.
Here a heavyweight line-up of over 20 skaters, including Wellington legends Joseph Whaanga and Chris Wood, will weave
together their best lines in what’s set to be an impressive display from some of New Zealand’s skateboard royalty. They
will be joined by two wildcard entries; chosen by their peers through rider-submitted online video parts.
Expect some of the best skateboarding New Zealand has to offer in an event format created by skateboarders for
skateboarders.
When: 1-5PM, Saturday, 17 November
Where: Odlins Plaza, Jervois Road, Wellington Waterfront (‘Brewery’ spot)

Zealand’s skateboard alumni, the winners of the Wellington and Christchurch events and two further Wildcard Entries will
