Kawarau Village is throwing a Christmas market
Queenstown, November 14 2012 – Kawarau Village is feeling festive and throwing a Christmas Market on Sunday 9 December 2012. Queenstown’s lakefront dining and entertainment precinct is bringing together winemakers, artisan food producers, jewellers and craftspeople from the Southern Lakes District and beyond for a fun family day.
Taste local wines, pick up Christmas goodies and gifts and be entertained by live music. There will be free face painting for children (and adults), a bouncy castle and jetboat rides from the Kawarau Village jetty.
Craft stallholders include flax weaving, hot glass, soy wax candles, handmade glass and silver jewellery, vintage stationary and rare books and locally sourced precious gemstones.
Some of Central Otago’s best wines will be showcased including Misha’s Vineyard, Gibbston Valley, Wild Earth, Gate 20 Two and Terra Sancta.
Local food producers sampling their goods include Waitaki ham and bacon, Zamora Homemade, European Bakery, Whitestone Cheese, Blue River Cheese and Fresh Fish Brothers.
Bring along a gift to donate to the Kawarau Village Charity Sleigh and be rewarded with a complimentary macaron. The Charity Sleigh has been built by Kawarau Village team members and creatively decorated by Remarkables Primary School Students. The gifts will be donated to Happiness House before Christmas.
Kawarau Village Christmas Market is being held on Sunday 9 December from 10am – 2pm. Complimentary carparking is available onsite, or take the water taxi over from Steamer Wharf leaving every hour on the hour.
