Tickets on sale 15 November to key iD events
Inspiring design, cutting-edge fashion and a world-class event await crowds at next year’s iD Dunedin Fashion Week with a stellar line-up of high profile Kiwi fashion designers confirmed for next year’s runway shows.
Tickets go on sale on 15 November via TicketDirect for the much-anticipated international public week of fashion events with the iD Fashion Shows – which also feature global acts and emerging talent – to be held on Friday 15 March and Saturday 16 March at Dunedin’s historic railway station. The shows are the culmination of a week of exceptional fashion events in the city, including the iD International Emerging Designer Awards – where fashion graduates from around the world compete for highly sought-after prizes and exposure.
With many longstanding iD favourites – including Nom*D, Mild-Red, Carlson, Company of Strangers, Charmaine Reveley, DADA Vintage and Tamsin Cooper – returning to the iD Fashion Show runway, alongside a new crop of Kiwi talent, iD 2013 promises to build on the success of its 13 previous years.
“As we head towards our 15th year anniversary, we’re pleased to announce ticket sales early and urge everyone to get in before Christmas,” says iD Dunedin Fashion Week Committee Chair Susie Staley.
“We have a fabulous event which gives the public a chance to see the latest stunning Kiwi collections, alongside international emerging designers and an incredible global guest designer right here on the Southern Hemisphere’s longest catwalk. This year’s line-up is fresh, inspiring, and is going to delight audiences once again.”
Fifteen New Zealand labels have been selected to show their winter collections at iD 2013, alongside two guest designers yet to be revealed, a selection of local fashion graduates and the winners from the Emerging Designer Awards.
Edgy menswear label MisteR – who wowed iD crowds and featured celebrity guest model Colin Mathura-Jeffree last year – will return to iD for the second time with a capsule collection, along with DEVáL, from Christchurch based fashion designer Debbie Lawson.
Other 2013 capsule collections include Jane Sutherland and UNDONE – the high-end label started last year by recent Otago Polytechnic graduates Rachel Webb and Elise Barnes, showing at iD for the second time. Renowned Wellington-based designer Lela Jacobs will also return to iD next year.
New to iD – with capsule collections – are the popular label Storm, and the new, youthful, streetwear styles of Moodie Tuesday, from artist Jon Thom and business partner Chris Brun.

This year’s selector, long-time fashion magazine editor turned blogger Leonie Barlow (www.thestyleinsider.co.nz), says after a “rigorous” selection process, guests will be “surprised and delighted” by the calibre of design on show at iD 2013.
“The iD Fashion Show is so amazing every year – next year there will be a few extra special surprises (particularly with some great guest designers in the pipeline) that will lift the bar and promise a show that is on track to be one of the best events ever,” Barlow says.
As always, the guests for the iD Dunedin Fashion Shows remain a closely guarded secret but promise to build on the success seen with previous international designers including British royalty Zandra Rhodes, Australia’s Akira Isogawa and French label Lutz Huelle.
Tickets for key events during iD Dunedin Fashion Week go on sale on Thursday 15 November at 9.00am. Tickets are available at TicketDirect venues (including the Regent Theatre, Dunedin), ph 0800 4 TICKET or online at www.ticketdirect.co.nz. A booking fee applies.
