Yahoo! New Zealand gets behind the Silver Ferns
Auckland, New Zealand: Yahoo! New Zealand has today announced a three-year sponsorship of Netball New Zealand and the Silver Ferns.
The sponsorship is part of Yahoo! New Zealand’s commitment to connecting fans to the game and its players, and includes support of the Fast5 Netball World Series, which will take place in Auckland from 9-11 November 2012.
“We are proud to be supporting netball in this country and to be able to use our digital platform to better connect fans to the game,” said Laura Maxwell-Hansen, General Manager, Yahoo! New Zealand. “Kiwis have an obvious passion for sport and are already heading online and onto mobile to stay in-the-know, connect with other fans, and view exclusive video content, so this is a natural partnership for Yahoo! New Zealand.
“The Silver Ferns are fantastic role models for the next generation of netball stars, and we look forward to standing beside them as they take on the rest of the world,” says Maxwell-Hansen.
In addition to its sponsorship, Yahoo! New Zealand has also developed the dedicated Fast5 Netball World Series website, which will keep fans up-to-date on latest news and provide exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the three-day international tournament. Yahoo! New Zealand will also be hosting the Fanzone at Vector Arena for the Fast5 Series and giving fans the opportunity to show off their shooting skills in the YaHOOPs competition.
“We are thrilled to welcome Yahoo! New Zealand to our family of sponsors. This is an exciting new partnership that will further secure the future of netball at all levels in this country and pave the way for our game to reach new fans in New Zealand and around the world,” said Raelene Castle, Chief Executive, Netball New Zealand.
