Mt Hutt celebrates Spring snow with half-price day passes
Sensational snowfall this winter resulting in a two-metre plus snow base means Canterbury’s Mt Hutt ski area is inviting everyone to enjoy the premium spring conditions.
Visitors have been reveling in “epic” ski and riding conditions since a winter snow storm delivered a metre of snow in mid-August.
More snowfalls this week have added to the wall-to-wall coverage, and now Mt Hutt is offering half-price full day passes next week (from Monday September 17 to Friday September 21 only).
Mt Hutt Ski Area Manager James McKenzie said the “sweet” deal was open to anyone.
“We’ve had a sensational season to date and our visitors are thoroughly enjoying absolutely superb ski and riding conditions,” he said.
“This half-price day pass deal gives everyone toying with the idea of taking a day off work a real incentive to come up and check out what we’ve got and we’d really love to see them here.
“Conditions just don’t get much better than this. We’ve received a fantastic ‘top up’ of snow with an additional 20cm falling since last weekend, and now we’re experiencing warm, sunny, blue sky spring days.”
Half-price full day passes can be bought each day from Monday to Friday next week (September 17 to 21) at Guest Services at Mt Hutt or the Snow Centre in Methven. Passes are valid only on the day of purchase and cannot be bought online.
