NINE LIVE are pleased to announce that Annah Mac has been confirmed as the special guest for THE hottest pop band of the moment, One Direction on their sold-out debut New Zealand tour - April 2012.

Annah Mac is one of the hottest local popstars in New Zealand today. Annah broke into the music scene last year with her platinum selling smash hit single Girl In Stilettos. The single took out the #2 spot on the New Zealand Top 40 charts and was a #1 airplay hit. Annah Mac is no stranger to the stage, having previously toured with the likes of Kelly Clarkson and The Script. Her debut album ‘LITTLE STRANGER’ was released at the end of 2011.

One Direction’s tour of New Zealand sold out in less than ten minutes. Their 2013 UK/Ireland Arena Tour sold out immediately - an estimated 300,000 tickets were sold in the first day - resulting in further dates being added.

Earlier this week, One Direction performed their hit single What Makes You Beautiful on the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards which resulted in a star-studded audience sing-a-long, and will appear in an episode of iCarly iGo One Direction ” set to premiere in the US on April 7th on Nickelodeon. The band will also be the musical guests on Saturday Night Live on April 7th with guest host Sofia Vergara ahead of their visit to New Zealand.

One Direction gained notoriety in 2010 after appearing on The X Factor UK. Their global smash debut album, Up All Night, entered the charts at #1 in 13 countries and has been certified triple platinum in Ireland, double platinum in the UK and Australia, and platinum in New Zealand. In six months they have sold more than 4.2 million records worldwide. Their BRIT Award winning debut single What Makes You Beautiful entered the charts at #1 in both the UK and Ireland and is triple platinum in Australia. In the U.S., What Makes You Beautiful sold more than 131,000 copies in its first week, debuting at #12 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart. Their #28 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 marked the highest debut from a British Group since the Spice Girls in 1998. UP ALL NIGHT recently debuted at #1 in both Canada and on the US Billboard 200 chart with over 176,000 copies sold in week 1 alone. This makes chart history as the first British group ever to debut at #1 in the US with their debut album release.

Their latest single, One Thing is currently gold and UP ALL NIGHT is double platinum in New Zealand.

Around the world, One Direction fans have used online platforms such as Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook creating a global phenomenon and inspiring a generation of 1D-mania. Dedicated fans of Liam, Harry, Niall, Louis and Zayn have taken their music to the top of charts around the world. One Direction have accumulated over 200 million YouTube views, 12 million followers on Twitter and over 4 million followers on Facebook. The music video for What Makes You Beautiful has already garnered over 85million views alone.
