Entertainment Store Group and Nick Jr. are proud to announce the New Zealand premiere of NICK JR.’s DORA THE EXPLORER LIVE! SEARCH FOR THE CITY OF LOST TOYS touring the nation from February 2011.
This two act, song and dance spectacular stars Dora, Boots the monkey, Diego and many of their friends. The tour opens in the South Island before travelling on to other cities around New Zealand.
This musical show features Dora and friends as larger than life costume characters and on stage in some of New Zealand’s most beautiful theatres, including Isaac Theatre Royal, St James Theatre and Auckland’s ASB Theatre.
Dora the Explorer is designed to teach kids to explore, communicate, overcome obstacles, solve puzzles and discover a diverse and exciting world, all while having a lot of fun! The live show, NICK JR.’s DORA THE EXPLORER LIVE! SEARCH FOR THE CITY OF LOST TOYS is an interactive adventure that leads Dora, our 7 year old Latina heroine, Boots the monkey, Diego and many of Dora’s friends on a fun-filled adventure.
With help from the audience, Dora and her courageous friends use their musical, language, math and reasoning skills to navigate their way through the number pyramid, the mixed-up jungle and other locations in order to find Dora’s missing teddy bear Osito in the City of Lost Toys. Dora leads the young audience to successfully carry out this fun and interactive mission.
The show features exciting musical numbers performed by the characters preschoolers love. Dora fans in New Zealand are sure to enjoy this all-new family theatrical experience that invites kids to think, sing and play along.
Dora the Explorer is an international phenomenon, and is the No.1 preschool property in many countries around the world. The TV show airs daily in New Zealand on Nickelodeon, and will soon also be seen on the new Nick Jr. channel launching in New Zealand on SKY NZ on 24 December 2010.
