Outside Sports takes off into summer with
‘specialized’ bike demo days
Outside Sports is
launching three bike demo days in the Queenstown Lakes and
Southland districts for people to get to grips with its new
and exciting Specialized mountain bike range.
With summertime just around the corner, adventure-seekers in Queenstown, Wanaka and Te Anau are being invited to trial some of the bike ‘bling’ now available at premium sports retailer Outside Sports.
The bike demo days welcome cyclists from beginners to experts and will be hosted by Outside Sports Wanaka on November 13 at the Albert Town end of the Clutha River Trail, Outside Sports Queenstown on November 14 at Seven Mile and by Outside Sports Te Anau on November 20 at Ivor Wilson Park.
Each demo day will start at 10am. Outside Sports’ Queenstown bike department manager Jim Hawkridge said the selection of bikes available to demo ranged from a beginner-level up to bikes favoured by professionals on the triathlon or downhill pro circuits.
“These Bike Demo Days are an ideal chance for people to come and experience the feel and the quality of the superb new bikes that have recently been introduced to our stores,” he said.
“We’ll have our professional bike team on hand to help people with any information they might need, and an easy and an intermediate loop will be flagged out at each of the venues.
“The aim of the days
is to enable people to test out bikes that they wouldn’t
usually get a chance to try before buying, with no
obligation whatsoever.”
Also available at the Bike
Demo Days will be a variety of higher end rental bikes for
people to try out.
“The demo days are a fantastic way to celebrate that Specialized has chosen to partner with Outside Sports,” said Mr Hawkridge. “We have a much larger range available in the shops to suit different riding styles and budgets.”
Among the bikes available for demo
will be Camber Pro’s, Epic Expert 29ers, Myka FSR’s
(ladies specific bike) and the Epic Marathon Others that may
feature are the Stump jumper FSR’s, Hardrock 29ers, rental
bikes and Camber 29ers.
Those interested in demoing one
of the bikes will need to register on the day and bring a
credit card for a security swipe. Children’s bikes will
not be available to demo on any of the days.
