New Zealand’s first dedicated road cycling magazine hits the streets from today.
“We’re really exciting about meeting the demand from the thousands of enthusiastic ‘weekend warriors’ who make up the vast majority of New Zealand’s road cyclists,” publisher Chris Gaskell said.
“We’ve been working on New Zealand Road Cyclist for some time so we get the mix and content right. It is New Zealand’s only magazine dedicated to road cycling and it’s published by people who are passionate and very keen about road cycling.”
Gaskell said they began the project believing they had a fair understanding of what readers would want from such a publication but also consulted with a number of different groups, individuals and organisations.
“Over the past few months we sought input from all sectors of the cycling industry – distributors, bike shops, BikeNZ, event organisers, and of course dozens and dozens of cyclists. Without exception, everyone we’ve spoken to has been supportive of our goal to help grow this outstanding sport.”
Gaskell said the magazine will capture all aspects of road cycling from a distinctly Kiwi perspective and present it in a format that aims to inform, inspire, educate and entertain readers.
“Each issue of New Zealand Road Cyclist will contain a mix of practical and informative articles, which will sit alongside entertaining and inspirational main features.”
