NZ Idol Finalists Goes Prime Time
Clinton Randell gets his big presenting break as TV2 launches “ONE NIGHT ONLY” this Saturday 12th December 7.30pm.
This brand new feel good entertainment series gives ordinary Kiwis an opportunity to perform one night in the spotlight for a good cause.
The nation fell in love with Clinton Randell in 2007 when he made top 8 in NZ Idol. It was then that TVNZ producers saw his gift of the gab and knew he was destined for television.
This Saturday New Zealand will see Clinton at his peak as he presents the prime time TV2 show “ONE NIGHT ONLY”.
The show will also be available 12 hours after it has aired on TVNZ on demand www.tvnz.co.nz.
Clinton describes the show as “A chance to see another side of our firefighters, sheep, shearers and nurses as they take to the stage to raise money for a well deserved cause. With some surprising performances where you wouldn’t necessarily have them quitting their day jobs!”.
Successful producer Debra Kelleher who brought “Dancing with the Stars” to our screens was impressed with Clinton’s performance while working with him on “ONE NIGHT ONLY”.
Clinton has also successfully aired in four seasons of TV2 “Just the Job” with Dave Mason Productions.
“Personally I have been in the television and radio business for over 30 years and can vouch for Clintons broadcasting talent. Talent is a rare commodity but Clinton certainly has that “X” Factor” says Director Dave Mason.
His most recent accomplishment has been wrapping up the filming for the soon to air exciting kids show “Let’s Get Inventin” and is now putting that husky voice to good us as the new LIFE FM 99.8 drive time radio announcer.
Clinton also models for PUMA and was a top ten finalist in Cleo Bachelor of the Year 2009.
Clinton’s charisma, quick wit, passion for life and down to earth nature has made him a much loved New Zealand television personality.
Clinton is not only risen to the challenge of prime time but is thriving in all aspects of life.
Clinton recently married long term sweetheart Jaime Parkinson, where they were admired in the media for their strong values. Their romantic wedding will feature in New Zealand Bride & Groom January 2010 issue.
Word on the street is that Clinton Randell is the new Dominic Bowden. He is just what New Zealand has been waiting for. What excites him most is not the status but the opportunity to embrace challenges and help others.
“I am very blessed to have had these opportunities. One Night Only really allowed me to rise to a new level. I am excited about what the future holds and hope I can make a difference” says Clinton.
Clinton is not only good at what he does but he has a genuine heart to make a difference. Before NZ Idol Clinton visited the slums of Cambodia several times to help underprivileged children, and in his off seasons he works with at risk youth in an alternative education programme.
He is a great role model who wants to inspire youth to action their dreams and see change in the world.
