Iconic Auckland Gelato Shop puts a smile on Starship Children's faces
AUCKLAND, 4 December 2009
More than 300 children at Starship Children's hospital will have a smile on their face this Christmas, thanks to the Secret Santa Giver programme from Giapo Gelato.
Giapo is inviting people to either donate $35 cash, or bring a gift worth $35 in store. The gifts will go towards children at Starship Children's Hospital on December 22nd.
Everyone who donates will receive a voucher for five waffle cones, as a thank you gift from Giapo - and from the children of Starship.
Giapo's founder Gianpaolo Grazioli says, "We are in business to put a smile on children's faces, but what about those who can't come to Giapo? This is a way for us to make a difference for them."
Giapo is also looking for Secret Santa Ambassadors, people who can recruit others to become Secret Santa Givers.
People can also freely donate to the cause online at https://www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/giveachildasmile
Mr. Grazioli says the waffle cones on offer to each Secret Santa Giver are a genuine gift, like a thanks from the Children and Giapo is bankrolling this cause to the value of $10,000 "I want to put a smile on as many faces as possible!" he says. "We want to make the world a better place. This is a start!"
