Downtown Community Ministry service users will enjoy a gourmet meal celebrating American Thanksgiving next Wednesday.
DCM Director Stephanie McIntyre says, “This is an opportunity to treat people, often last in line, with top class service and generosity.
“The quality of food is always amazing and we make an effort to serve and treat every guest with dignity and respect.”
The annual lunch is being prepared by Wellington members of the New Zealand Chef Association and supported by the U.S. Embassy.
Attendees are waited upon and served top class food.
Over 100 diners are expected to attend and enjoy the meal. The menu includes roast turkey with cranberry sauce, mixed roast vegetables and pecan pie with cream for desert.
“We’re especially grateful to the Chef Association and the Embassy staff for supporting our clients in this way,” says Ms McIntyre.
A range of food and service companies supporting the event include: NZ Chefs Association, Coq au Vin, Rowntrees Master Butchers, 24 Carrot Dream Produce, Active Marketing, Pandoro Bakery, Nestle, Southern Hospitality, Duxton Hotel, Brentwood Hotel and Café Laffare.
The lunch will be held next Wednesday at Wesley Wellington Church on Taranaki St at 12noon.
