Hulk Hogan Announced as New Zealand ‘Movember Mo-Mentor’
Hulk Hogan, the biggest name in professional wrestling, has today been announced as an official ‘Mo’ Mentor for this
year’s New Zealand ‘Movember’ – the moustache growing charity event held during November each year which raises funds
and awareness for men’s health.
The world famous wrestler will be helping the men’s health charity in his role as a Mo-Mentor, by encouraging Kiwi men
to grow the best Mo they can for ‘Movember.’
“To all my Hulkamaniacs, say your prayers, take your vitamins and grow a moustache for Movember this year,” says Hulk
Hogan. “Get into the ring with me, Hulk Hogan, and my Mo Bros in the fight against prostate cancer and depression in
men.”
Hulk Hogan knows only too well the devastating effects of depression having spoken openly about his battle with
depression following his very public divorce from ex wife, Linda Bollea.
In his new book ‘My Life Outside Of The Ring’ Hogan writes about holding a gun to his head and how he almost pulled the
trigger – but a call from “Gladiators” co-star Laila Ali saved him.
Be a champion, not a quitter and keep growing your moustache to help beat prostate cancer and depression in men,” says
the wrestling star who will tour Australia this month.
‘Movember’ aims to raise awareness and funding for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
Increased awareness for Movember’s causes is vital when you consider that each year in New Zealand, 1 in 10 men will
develop prostate and over 700 men will die as a result - many of which would have been preventable with early detection.
And, 1 in 10 men will experience depression in their lifetime – most of whom will not seek help.
