Reb Fountain on Tour during NZ Music Month
Reb Fountain on Tour during New Zealand Music Month
In
support of Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters
Reb Fountain hits the road this May, playing music & travelling the countryside in kiwi camper style along with the iconic Don McGlashan & his band the Seven Sisters, as part of his Marvellous Year Tour. Reb will be performing songs from her recently released album Holster, along with new tunes and some oldies from days gone by. Reb will be performing solo & with the Bandits for select shows.
With Fountain writing everything and playing guitars everywhere, this is very much her show. And on songs which drift from deftly melodic alt.folk to understated nerve-end alt.rock she walks a canny lyrical line between delivering as a seductive lover, cautionary vamp and empowered woman which is quite distinctive. She has something to say. Graham Reid, Elsewhere, Holster Review
With wisdom and resolution
beyond her years, southern California born Reb Fountain is
an inspired and talented, locally entrenched
Folk/Country/Rock style singer/songwriter who, with an
all-star band firmly in tow, has delivered a very credible
step up with her second album Holster. Reb and her band is
world class, inventive, thoroughly impressive and enjoyable
live, and almost otherworldly, like New Zealand’s answer
to Emiliana Torrini or PJ Harvey. Sarah Gooding, Einstein

Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters
"Marvellous Year" New Zealand Tour
To celebrate the release of his super good new album, Marvellous Year, Don McGlashan and his band the Seven Sisters are hitting the road in a giant campervan, playing 13 shows of musical goodness from Queenstown to Auckland. Fresh from a world tour with Crowded House, Neil Finn’s 7 World Collide shows with members of Radiohead and Wilco, solo shows in London, Amsterdam and Vancouver and scoring two feature movies, this is the first national tour of Don McGlashan in some time.
It will be a great chance to catch his top form band playing new stuff, old stuff (including Mutton Birds and Front Lawn favourites) and everything in-between. The band is made up of Don McGlashan, Chris O’Connor, Maree Thom, John Segovia and Dominic Blaazer.

Reviews for Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters' latest album “Marvelous Year”
“Highly highly highly recommended” 5/5 stars by Geoff Doube – The Waikato Times
“an album that balances edginess and
beauty, comfort and disturbance. On Marvellous Year,
McGlashan draws more than ever on traditional forms –
country, gospel, folk – yet chisels fresh melodies from
these ancient materials” by Nick Bollinger – NZ
Listener
“Beautifully crafted, lyrically witty,
whimsical and still evocative of the everyday, this is
another wonderful album” 4/5 stars by James Belfield –
The Sunday Star Times
“…plenty of new evidence of his particular songwriting genius throughout” 4/5 stars by Russell Baillie – NZ Herald
