Tips on saving $$$ this year!


Forget the multiplexes, with outrageously cheap tickets to the theatre at $16 for full price and $12 for concession and $10 for fringe card holders, a great night out in town has never been so economical. Make BATS your second home and save some bling bling this year.

Showing tonight and tomorrow night at 6.30pm is Poly Zygotic. This hilarious “exploration of Samoan and cross-Pacific identity” has been picking up laughs and winning audiences hearts. Check out the review for the “ skillful and totally engaging” trio here.

Words Apart opened on Valentines Day and will run til Wednesday 18 February at 8pm. This gorgeous show is booked out for Tuesday, but there are tickets available for tonight and Monday. Book early cos these tickets are going real fast.

Drowning Bird, Plummeting Fish
runs until Thursday 19 February. “Engaging, compelling, provoking and confronting” this “highly recommended” show is a must see for this fringe season.

Opening on Thursday 19 February is The Minster’s Son. A very personal tale of love, faith, hope, and the effects of violence. A story of a Samoan man caught between the three cultures of his people, his British wife, and the country he lives in: New Zealand.

Also opening on Friday 20 February is Once Upon a time in Aro Valley. A thrilling theatrical experience. Book and collect your tickets in advance and you can receive a free coffee voucher for Aro café.

Keep it Rural gets down and dirty on Sunday 22 February. This delightful slice of Kiwiana will tickle your funny bones and move you.
