[Saturday 13th December 2008] New Zealand’s premiere social networking site, MySpace.com today announced that MySpace users will be treated to an exclusive Q session with Rhys Darby following a FREE special pre-release screening of YES MAN in which he stars as Jim Carrey’s boss Norman. The screening takes place on Sunday 21st December, and is set to be one of the most coveted MySpace Black Curtain events to date.
Black Curtain screenings are exclusive events that MySpace host for film lovers. MySpacers get the chance to see highly anticipated films in cinemas before anyone else and for free. Those wishing to attend this exclusive event need to add __www.myspace.com/blackcurtainnz to their MySpace ‘friends’ and then check the profile to find out details of when to RSVP for the event. Recently redesigned, Black Curtain profile has a mobile RSVP mechanism whereby users must SMS a code found on the profile in order to be sent a unique ticket to their mobile.
“We’re very excited to be giving MySpace users the opportunity to be some of the first in New Zealand to see this film, we are also very excited to have one of New Zealand’s finest comedians Rhys Darby take part in a question and answer session exclusively for MySpace,” said Susan Carlton, Business Development Director of MySpace NZ.
Rhys Darby shot to worldwide fame as Brett and Jermaine’s boss Murray in the hit HBO series Flight of the Conchords. The role gave him a cult following and led to him securing the role with Jim Carrey in YES MAN. YES MAN is the latest pre-release screening that MySpace has secured for their popular Black Curtain events, which have previously included; Hot Fuzz, The Darjeeling Limited, Transformers and Jumper.
YES MAN stars Jim Carrey as ‘Carl Allen’, a man who signs up for a self-help program based on one simple principle: say “yes” to everything...and anything. At first, unleashing the power of yes transforms Carl’s life in amazing and unexpected ways, but he soon discovers that opening up his life to endless possibilities can have its drawbacks.
YES MAN releases in New Zealand on Jan 1st. YES MAN is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.
