Dear Friends
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
Alfred Hill, NZ's first professional composer, turns 139 years old on the 16th of December and we're going to celebrate! Unfortunately, he can't be there. He's dead.
But that's no reason not to come to the party! There's going to be cake...that can't be all bad...it's fact, it's great! We've tasted the cake that's going to be served..well, not the ACTUAL cake, because it wouldn't be very fresh if it WERE the actual cake we were going to be eating on the 16th...but one just like the cake you'll be able to share on that very special day...and we can assure you that it's DELECTABLE.
Speaking of delectable, the music of Alfred Hill is just that....delectable. Please come and share this celebration of Hill's music (not all of it, mind you...he wrote over 2000 works and we're only going to perform a very small fraction of 1% of those compositions...two quartets, to be exact...numbers 7 and 9, if you must know) and life.
Butthatsnotall folks! If you come and help us celebrate, you'll also be contributing, at no extra cost, to a Global Mission Project of the Wadestown Presbyterian Church.
So please come and join us! Tell your friends! Tell your family!
See you there.
