Nightline presenter Samantha Hayes and Outrageous Fortune star Kirk Torrance have been named the sexiest Aucklanders
for 2008.
The stars were selected for their all round sex appeal by Metro magazine, as part of its annual Best of Auckland
awards.
Likening Hayes to Audrey Hepburn, Metro says “she’s got a way of leaning slightly from the waist towards the camera as
if she’s going to blow you a kiss,” while Torrance has “got the winning grin, the eyebrow flick, the attractively
careful watching eyes. And the abs, of course.” In all Metro has chosen winners in over 100 different categories
covering the range of food, drink, nightlife, fashion, media, arts, culture, retail and more.
Once again the magazine asked Aucklanders to make their own nominations in a range of categories through the MetroLive
website (www.metrolive.co.nz). Those responses were fed into a painstaking assessment process that included consultation
with acknowledged experts in various fields and weeks of first-hand research by magazine staffers. The resulting list of
winners is a comprehensive guide for readers wanting to get out and enjoy the best that Auckland has to offer.
“All these winners have really earned their place on this list,” says Metro’s Editor Bevan Rapson. “We do a lot of
research and testing in every category to make sure we can confidently name one contender to be ‘the best’ in their
field.”
