This wonderful ´travelling atelier for clothes´ was founded in 2003 by ‘the Ladies’, Karin Arts and Marieke Biegman. Ever since, thousands of people in many countries have taken off their clothes for the Ladies to decorate them.
With pleasure and a great sense of fun, passers-by allow their clothes be customised, decorated, adapted, personalised, jazzed-up, beautified, adjusted and re-evaluated, by the improvising couturiers of the Mobile Sewing Company, returning home with an unique memento from the festival.
The Ladies will demonstrate their incredible talent for personalising clothes in a theatrical and mystical way and the power for the vintage sewing machines they use in each three hour session will be generated by two bicycles – pedaled by the festival audience of course!
