CAUGHT ON SAFARl: LIVE
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL SCREENING LIVE AS-IT-HAPPENS
FOOTAGE FROM SOUTH AFRICA’S KRUGER NATIONAL PARK!
Beginning on Sunday 9 November at 5:00pm, National Geographic Channel will broadcast two hours of LIVE coverage daily from Kruger National Park for seven straight days, offering viewers 14 hours of once in a lifetime, one-on-one encounters with Africa’s most majestic creatures.
Imagine experiencing the thrill of lions on the hunt, a hyena feeding frenzy or an intimate encounter with an elephant family as it happens in real time. For seven days this November, viewers can go on safari like never before when National Geographic Channel broadcasts LIVE from Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Filmed live on location at Nwanetsi Concession at Singita, one of Africa’s preeminent safari game reserves housed inside Kruger National Park, Caught on Safari: Live! will beautifully capture Singita’s landscape, which is nestled among the Lebombo Mountains overlooking the African plain, and the Nwanetsi river. Caught on Safari: Live! host, filmmaker and conservationist John Varty will give a unique tour of the park, easily traversing the picturesque terrain in search of Singita’s elusive residents.
Through an insider’s peek into life at the reserve, viewers will hear directly from the game rangers and wildlife trackers watching over Singita, and learn about Africa’s conservation issues. At the fully-functioning game reserve, Caught on Safari: Live! will capture all the Singita action. Singita represents one of Africa’s few territories where large prides of lions thrive, along with many other species including buffalo, leopard, white and black rhino, cheetah and elephant, among others. November marks the beginning of summer, bringing with it the birth of many young animals around the park including impala lambs.
To wire the wild for this up-close look at life in the animal kingdom, cameras will be set up at the park to unobtrusively capture animals at home in their natural element. As an ultimate safari guide, the week-long live event presents an incredible and unpredictable look at animal behaviour, inspiring resiliency and wildlife survival that can only be captured live.
An additional two hours of footage will be streamed live on natgeotv.com from 5:00am and will be available to watch throughout the day so viewers can catch all the action in Singita at both dawn and dusk.
New Zealand viewers also have the chance to win a trip for two adults and two children to Kruger National Park in South Africa where they can experience a safari first-hand. Tune into Caught On Safari: Live! on Sunday November 9 or check natgeotv.com for more details.
Caught on Safari: Live! is produced for National Geographic Channels International by Aquavision TV Productions. Peter Lamberti is Executive Producer for Aquavision TV Productions. For NGCI, Executive Vice President of Content is Sydney Suissa.
