Top Town returns after nearly 20 years!
This December TVNZ are bringing back 'Top Town' and your mayor has been invited to enter a team. He may have already
said 'yes' or 'no' on our behalf but you should ask him!
We are looking for 15 towns to join in the competition. To be eligible a town must have an elected mayor. Each team
will contain 12 members, six female and six male. We also welcome cheer squads, supporters and mascots.
The entire competition will be held over 8 days in early December in CHRISTCHURCH.
Each team could include a local hero, a sporting or entertainment personality who is brought back from the big city to
compete for their home town.
Your town will need to pay for travel to and from the event but we will provide team accommodation (not supporters),
breakfast and lunch each day.
We are at this stage looking for expressions of interest from towns who think they would like to enter. If there are too
many towns from one region then there may need to be a trial situation to select the town from that region to compete on
the show.
