Lotto Winners Celebrate By Buying Powerball Tickets
Last weekend's five Lotto First Division winners have all claimed their $250,726 share, and are now planning on celebrating in style - and buying a ticket for this weekend's massive Powerball draw.
A winner from Otorohanga was on his way to book flights to Britain for Christmas when he discovered his good fortune.
"We've extended out trip and will go to some exotic places we hadn't planned on, which is so exciting," he says.
"I'll also be buying a ticket for this weekend's big one, but imagine I'll be at the back of a four-million-person queue!"
Meanwhile, a Manukau winner will be telling their family the big news over dinner this weekend, but think they may be on a roll for this weekend's $18 million Powerball too.
A Cambridge winner says her smile has been so big since her win that it seems to be contagious.
"All my friends and colleagues have been smiling too - it seems to have lifted everyone out of the winter doldrums.
"Since the win, I've been seeing blue seas and a cruise for my near future, but this Saturday's Powerball could make that a permanent lifestyle," she says.
The tickets were sold at Otara Pharmacy in Manukau, Hamilton East Stationery & Lotto, Eastside Pricecutter in Rotorua, Kihikihi Bookshop in Te Awamatu, and Hokitika New World.
