Spring has well and truly sprung, but there’s still so much more skiing to be had! We’ve had some warm temperatures of late, making for soft spring snow with some spectacular warm skiing days, enjoyed by many. A colder weather system has now rebonded the snow, setting it up and allowing more grooming to take place, which will assist in maintaining the current snow conditions.
We’ve got lots going on, and it all starts this weekend with the Dynastar CHILL Grom-fest at Porters. This is a fun event for all the younger skiers and riders, with both racing and freestyle sections, there’s something for everyone. Entry is free for those aged 6-15 years, and you can pre-register by filling in an application form that you can print out from www.chillout.co.nz. Bring up all the young ones to Porters this weekend!
Also on this weekend, it’s the second of the Underground Coffee Family Fun Sessions, brought to you by 91ZM. Tasty BBQ sausages and refreshments free for everyone, loads of giveaways, plus fun toboggan races for the kids.
With thanks to Miles Toyota, the official Porters mountain vehicle, all Toyota vehicle owners get two for one day passes this Sunday! Your skiing and snowboarding - two for one for the day. What a deal!
Looking ahead to next weekend, 27th & 28th Sept, we’ve got a superb lineup. On Saturday 27th it’s the final event of the Quest Park Jam series. Mellow music on T-1, skiers and riders styling it up and putting on a show, plus loads of mint product up for grabs with thanks to the crew at Quest Board Store Christchurch. Registration at the judges tent from 9:30 - 10:30am.
