For Immediate Release
FINAL DAYS FOR KIWI CAR LOVERS TO GET THE CHANCE TO BE CROWNED AUSTRALASIA’S KING OF CARS
Keen drivers can enter at this weekend’s GT Radial Speedshow
The countdown is on to find New Zealand’s best car and driver to go head to head with our Aussie mates across the ditch in the second season of the Australian filmed TV show -Turtle Wax Blood, Sweat & Gears.
The winning New Zealand competitor will go head to head against seven Aussie competitors in a series of grueling challenges to test not only their need for speed but also advanced driving skills, car handling and how well their machine scrubs up. The entrants will compete for a big prize packet and the title: ‘Australasia’s King of Cars’.
Any vehicle type is eligible from classic muscle, fast fours to vintage and everything in between.
Any keen contenders wanting more information, or wishing to enter, can visit the Turtle Wax stand at this weekend’s GT Radial Speedshow, taking place at the ASB Show Grounds, Greenlane, Auckland.
Marion Whitehead, marketing manager Turtle Wax New Zealand, says she is convinced New Zealand is harboring a car and driver that has the talent – and guts - to go the distance against the drivers across the ditch.
“Kiwis love their cars and know how to drive them. Anyone who takes pride in their car will love this competition. Not only do you get a chance to pit your car and skills up against the best in Australia, you get to represent your country - and a chance to become the next Australasia King of Cars!”
Based on Australia’s 2007 SpringNats Car Festival, the first season of Turtle Wax’ Blood, Sweat & Gears, aired in Australia earlier this year. The second season, scheduled to air in 2009, promises to be bigger and better than its predecessor. Filming will take place in Shepparton, Victoria, in November this year.
Kiwi car enthusiasts who think they’ve got what it takes to take part in Turtle Wax Blood Sweat & Gears can enter by visiting www.turtlewax.co.nz, or by visiting the Turtle Wax stand at the GT Radial Show at the ASB Show Grounds this weekend. Entries close on the 22nd of September 2008.
