MAHE DRYSDALE'S BITTERSWEET BRONZE
When rowing champion Mahe Drysdale crossed the finish line in third place at the Beijing Olympics, New Zealand cheered. REAL LIFE - COSMETIC SURGERY
More Kiwi women than ever before are turning to plastic surgery, so New Idea looks at two very different experiences. Natalie Cornwell lost a whopping 51kg through dieting and exercise, and was desperate to lose the loose skin she was left with. Unable to afford the surgery in New Zealand, she fled to Malaysia to buy herself a new body.
We also meet seven-year-old Jacob who was orphaned two years ago after his mum Suzanne went to hospital for gastric bypass surgery. She thought the surgery would give her a fresh start, but things didn't go as planned.
