31 Reasons to love New Zealand Books in September
September is New Zealand Book Month and www.NZHistory.net.nz is celebrating the event with ‘30 reasons to love New Zealand books and writing’ on their book month feature at http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/culture/nz-book-month.
The Ministry for Culture and Heritage website has a bookcase full of stories and inspiration for the month at http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/culture/nz-book-month/writing-stories.
The 30 features range from stories of ‘Ponga and Puhihuia’ and ‘Hutu and Kawa’ the Pohutukawa Fairies to James K. Baxter, a history of The Listener and of course, New Zealand’s favourite Hairy Maclary – all accompanied by rich images of the era.
There is also a New Zealand Book Month quiz at http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/quiz/nz-book-month-quiz.
