Only One Month To Go Until The 2008 Variety Mini Bash®
The countdown is on with only four weeks to go until the Variety Mini Bash, supported by Principal Partner – Trillian Trust, comes to a town near you.
Starting from Vector Arena in Auckland, the Variety Mini Bash will travel through West Auckland and Rodney district to Tutukaka and surrounding areas from Friday 12 September to Sunday 14 September.
A shorter but equally exciting version of Variety's signature event, the Variety Bash, the Variety Mini Bash is a long weekend take on the main Bash (held annually in March). This year's Mini Bash event will see around 30 crazy Bash vehicles and support cars travel in convoy transporting committed "Bashers" and celebrities distributing grants to children en route while fundraising for Variety.
After a breakfast for over 400 children and "Bashers" at Vector Arena on Friday, the Bash will visit five West Auckland schools before a lunch stop at Helensville Primary School. The eye-catching vehicles will then make their way to Tutukaka via Wellsford and Whangarei where they will be stopping to 'bucket shake.'
On Saturday morning between 8 – 10.30am, locals are welcome to check out the Bash vehicles and grant presentations at Ngunguru School and on Sunday morning at McDonald's in Kamo between 9 – 10.00am.
In addition to bringing fun and sunshine to children and schools en route, the 2008 Variety Mini Bash will also undertake a community project for Ngunguru School and Playcentre on Saturday morning.
Variety Bash Operations Manager, Adam Leslie says that the mission of the Variety Mini Bash is to distribute grants to New Zealand children, as well as bring magic and fun to the schools and communities it visits.
"The Variety Bash is the fun way to help Kiwi Kids", says Adam.
"If you see the Bash convoy, please come and drop a coin in one of our collection buckets to help with our fundraising activities".
Mini Bash sponsors include Variety Principal Partner Trillian Trust, Ford New Zealand, New Zealand Post, and McDonalds. It is also supported by the NZ Automobile Association, the Royal NZ Air Force and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.
