[Thursday 23 July 2008] – MySpace.com, the world’s most popular social destination, today announced an exciting new partnership which will see Visa Entertainment come on board as the principal sponsor for the hugely popular MySpace Secret Shows programme in New Zealand.
“Music is the cornerstone of what our users love about MySpace, and the brilliant Secret Shows programme encapsulates this hugely popular part of the site; this partnership will not only have Visa Entertainment incorporated into the user experience on MySpace, but importantly will be supported with direct brand exposure in an engaging, fun offline environment too,” said Andrew Cordwell, National Sales Director, Fox Interactive Media and MySpace.
MySpace Secret Shows are free, exclusive concerts held throughout the world featuring some of the biggest international artists. New Zealand artists who have participated in the Secret Shows program,  have included some of New Zealand’s hottest acts; Evermore, Elemeno P, The Checks, and Coco Solid.  The only way MySpace users can get in on the “secret” and find out specific details about the concerts is by adding www.myspace.com/secretshowsnz as a 'friend' to their profile. Globally MySpace Secret Show acts have included; The Vines, The Cure, Gnarls Barkley, Silverchair, Powderfinger, Jet and Air.
Iain Jamieson, Visa’s New Zealand Country Manager added, “Visa Entertainment is all about money-can’t-buy entertainment experiences, so we’re thrilled to support MySpace and its hugely popular MySpace Secret Shows programme to help bring local and international musicians to Kiwi music fans.”
