TV trivia experts could win $25,000 in prizes with TV Guide
Television buffs can test their TV trivia and be into win $25,000 in prizes in TV Guide’s Big Triv reader competition.
Kicking off in May, the four-week competition will give one lucky TV viewer the chance to take away a supreme prize of $10,000 cash. In addition, four viewers could also greatly enhance their home viewing experience by winning one of four 40” Samsung Full HD LCD Televisions with Freeview.
If you can name the variety of beer that Homer drinks on the Simpsons or the caravan park in Home & Away, you could be in to win. All viewers need to do is get nine trivia answers out of twelve correct over the four weeks to go into the draw.
You don’t need to be a science wiz to be part of Big Triv just a keen TV fan, says TV Guide Editor Julie Eley.
“Big Triv is for anyone who loves watching television and prides themselves on knowing the nuts and bolts of New Zealand’s favourite shows,” she says.
“This competition is also very much a family sport,” says Julie. “It might take the breadth of your families TV viewing expertise to spot the right answers from Home & Away to CSI to America’s Next Top Model. We have included a wide range of TV shows as part of the competition to test even the most avid TV watchers.”
The competition, in partnership with TV3, starts on 22 May. Entering is simple. Buy a TV Guide each week for the next four weeks and answer nine trivia questions relating to different shows screening on TV3. All correct entries will go into the draw to win $10,000 cash.
In addition “Watch & Win” spot prizes will be awarded to five lucky readers who will each get to take home a 40” Samsung Full HD LCD Televisions with Freeview HD receiver valued at $3699. To enter, a specific show on TV3 will reveal the answer to the “Watch & Win” question and readers are in the draw.
