An opportunity for designers to unleash their creativity.
Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award 2008 Call For Entries
The call is out to fashion designers from all over New Zealand, the Pacific and Pacific Rim to enter the Westfield Style Pasifika 2008 Fashion Award.
Westfield Style Pasifika is New Zealand*s premiere fashion award, and all finalists garments will be on stage at the Vector Arena in Auckland on September 5 with the show filmed for a TVNZ special.
Expressions of interest need to be in by Friday July 11th. All details plus entry form on www.stylepasifika.co.nz. Entry forms also available at all Westfield Shopping Centres in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch and fashion design schools throughout the country.
There is a two stage entry process. The second stage is the entry of the actual finished garments and they are due by Saturday August 2.
Internationally unique the award specifically showcases fashion that is inspired by the influence of the Pacific. Last year there were a record number of entries, hundreds of garments from all over New Zealand and the Pacific with some raw and remarkable talent revealed.
The fashion is the highlight of a spectacular show that combines the best in fashion, music, dance and culture - an exciting and potent celebration of New Zealand*s special place in the world.
The ten categories in the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award are Pasifika Body Art; Traditionally Inspired; Resene Asia Pasifika; NZ Aids Foundation Pasifika Hero; Schwarzkopf Osis Three Piece Collection; FLAVA Urban Street Wear; Menswear; Evening Wear; Bridal Wear and Te Puni Kokiri Parent and Child.
The Awards will be judged by key New Zealand fashion designers and influencers.
